ADVICE FOR FUTURE PATIENTS:
You can get it if you really want, but you must try, try and try -- and you’ll succeed at last.
HOW DO YOU STAY ACTIVE:
Team sports are my favorite. They provide the opportunity to create something greater than myself through collaboration with my teammates.
FAVORITE RECOVERY FOOD:
Waffle with peanut butter
I love learning new skills force my brain to be more flexible! Right now I’m teaching myself the ukulele.
CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT:
Music. I played viola, rang in premier choir Bells of the Sound, maintain an extraordinarily large record collection, and devote much of my spare time to seeking out new sounds, DJing, and seeing live shows (ranging from opera to Iggy Pop).
“TCBY” – well before the days of self-serve fro-yo!
FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM:
The Derby Liberation Front, one of Rat City Roller Derby’s teams. I spent five and a half seasons with this team and learned I could push my body and mind further than I ever thought possible. DLF! DLF! DLF!
ALTERNATE UNIVERSE CAREER:
Food or some other form of Health Inspector.

Growth begins where your comfort zone ends.

Athletic Training certification, special interests in neurodegenerative and static neurological conditions. Author of “The Foot and Ankle” chapter of Therapeutic Exercise: Moving Towards Function 3rd and 4th Ed.

Movement Systems Syndromes (MSS), Postural Restoration Institute (PRI)
I remain active in the roller derby community, volunteering with Potential Fresh Meat (PFM), Jet City Roller Derby, and Rat City Roller Derby.
